CAMP ARRIVALS HOME

The cadets (listed below) who attended the 2 week General Training Course, will be returning by bus this Friday, July 21st at approx. 9:00pm at the Major E.J.G. Holland VC Armoury – 2100 Walkley Rd (the same location they departed from)

INFORMATION ON DEPARTURE TIMES FOR CAMPS AND WHAT TO BRING:

The travel itineraries have been announced, as follows:

Blackdown Camps (Bus #2524B):

Date:  08 July 2017 (Saturday)

Time: arrive by 05:00am (bus is scheduled to leave at 06:00am)

Location: Major E.J.G. Holland VC Armoury, 2100 Walkley Road

Connaught Camps

Date: 09 July 2017 (Sunday)

Time: arrive no earlier than 13:00 and no later than 14:00  --  One you enter Connaught Ranges, proceed straigh to down the road almost to the end. You will see a sign for the cadet camp.

Location: 5 Brouillette Blvd, Ottawa, ON

Officer Cadet McDonald will be emailing you an electronic copy of the offer (the same one that you have signed and handed in).  Please print, sign and bring this form with you when you drop your Cadet off for the bus / at Connaught.  Your Cadet will need this signed form, their Health Card and all of the kit from the Kit List (Annex B in the Joining Instructions for either Blackdown or Connaught).

PRE-DEPARTURE CHECK

In preparing for departure, all cadets must assemble the following items to bring with them:

a. Provincial Health Card;

b. Personal identification;

c. Completed Personal Articles Log (as required) (Annex C);

d. Prescriptions for eyeglasses (as required) (see para 17);

e. Prescribed medications (as required) (see para 12);

f. Completed OTC/Prescribed Medications List that includes dispensing information (as applicable) (Annex D);

g. Completed Cadet Transportation Form (Annex E);

h. Completed Parental / Guardian Leave Authorization and Direction Form (Annex F);

i. Completed Code of Conduct – Course Cadets (Annex G);

j. Long-distance calling card (suggested, for cadets to call home periodically); and

k. Pocket money for incidental personal expenses (canteen snacks, souvenirs, etc.,$15 - $20 per week suggested);

High School Credits

Did you know you can earn high school coop credits for attending a 3 or 6 week cadet camp????

You have to register here (http://www.ucdsb.on.ca/school/trl/curriculum/UCDSBsummersemester/Pages/CadetSummerCOOP.aspx) BEFORE your camp. The deadline in 29 June.

There is no training this week. 

 

Reminder - those attending the whitewater rafting trip this Sunday (i.e. those that submitted their permission slips and paid the deposit) need to be at the Legion by 0700.  Do not be late! The bus is scheduled to depart promptly at 0715 hrs. Double check that you’ve got everything on the kit list (see the announcement from 26 May 2017 at 1616).  The weather looks great…see you there!!!
